Scotch Broom. What a nasty plant. It’s an invasive pest that overruns meadows and crowds out everything else. It grows deep roots and is difficult to eradicate. I have a particular dislike for it as nothing sets off my hay fever as quickly as a bunch of Scotch Broom in bloom. Burn it all, I say!
On the other hand, it makes a pretty perch for a Red-winged Blackbird.
