There‘s a heron rookery on the waterfront in Everett, Washington. The birds nest atop the pilings that once supported a building built over the mudflats of Port Gardner Bay. It‘s great for watching the birds because they’re pretty much at eye level, not way up in the trees. We’ll go back in a few weeks when the youngsters have hatched.
