Her wings are not red, nor is she black. Welcome to dimorphism!

Birds don’t come much more dimorphic than the Red-winged Blackbird. The males are black with red and gold epaulets on their shoulders. There’s not a speck of black nor red on the females. One of nature’s mysteries, I guess.
